GAD Talk Series –– #1

GAD Talk Series #1: What is GAD? 2015 to Now

November 1st, 2020

9am NYC / 2pm LDN / 6pm DXB / 11pm TYO

Join us for a conversation about Global Art Daily (GAD)'s past and present. This is our first edition of the GAD Talk Series, which will foster dialogues in the global art world during this pandemic. The topic of this conversation is "What is GAD? 2015 to Now." Sophie Arni, GAD's Founder and Editor-in-Chief, will introduce the progression of Global Art Daily from blog to print and digital publication. She will discuss how her travels have affected her perception of contemporary art, and how she has built an international network of artists, curators, and writers from Abu Dhabi, UAE. The panelists include Ashraf Mohiy and Ev Zverev, part of the GAD's 2020-21 Editorial Board, and Christopher Benton, Dubai-based artist and GAD's long-time supporter and contributor. Topics explored include: How has GAD evolved during the past 5 years? What is GAD's long-term vision? What has GAD contributed to the UAE art scene? How do we define "global" and "global art"? Organized as an open discussion, this panel will be live-streamed on Global Art Daily's Youtube channel and will welcome live questions from the audience.

Panel:

Ev Zverev, GAD Editorial Board (New York City/Mexico)
Christopher Benton, Artist and GAD Contributor (Dubai)
Sophie Arni, GAD Founder and Editor-in-Chief (Tokyo)

Moderator:

Ashraf Mohiy, GAD Editorial Board (New York City)
